W.H. Ales Brewpub in Bay City, MI, has quickly captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Patrons rave about its inviting atmosphere, diverse menu, and attentive service. The establishment shines during special events, as highlighted by Neil Aydlett’s experience. He praised the all-inclusive VIP package, which featured a buffet dinner and a stunning view of fireworks, though he noted the pork entrée was slightly overcooked. Other reviews echo this sentiment, with customers enjoying dishes like the London broil and ribeye hoagie, both of which boast remarkable flavors despite some service hiccups.

This was our first visit. My wife and I purchased all inclusive VIP tickets for the evening which including a buffet dinner, open bar, a live band, and a second story view of the finale fireworks. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bar tender did a wonderful job on making our drinks, kudos! The cheesecake & salad service was also very good. If one area I would offer a suggestion for improvement would be in the preparation of the pork entree, as it was very much overcooked. The flavor was spot on though. The staff was very attentive, and kept the tables pre-bused. The band & view of the fireworks were also very good. We will definitely return for a regular dinner service, and if this VIP offer is available next year sign us up!

So maybe a few kinks but overall I would say it was very good. Shared a pizza and a ribeye hoagie. Can't wait to come back and try more! The server informed me they have fruit sorbet served in the fruit. I did have my own personal ambassador sitting at the bar. We will definitely be back to try different menu items.

My wife and I went to W.H. Ales for the first time tonight. The food and drinks were great and the service was amazing. Casey was our server and she made the experience completely awesome! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Casey for providing a great night for us!!

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time over the weekend after being impressed by their food during the Wine Walk. We were curious to see what else they had to offer, and it did not disappoint. When we got there, we were recommended the London broil, which we were both glad we tried as it was easily one of the best dishes we've had here in Bay City. The steak was incredibly tender and full of flavor. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow, and it was warm inside the restaurant. Overall, we’re definitely planning to come back and explore more of the menu!

Very good brewery and the beer was great. The BrewMaster, Kelly, was very nice and spent time talking with us about his brewing and the new chef. Jim the head bartender was very nice and fun to talk with. As for the beer quality...this place ranks in our top 4 best breweries, and we have been to a lot of breweries. Thanks for brewing True to Form beers that are high quality. I wish we had this place close to our house so it could be our home brewery!

The waitstaff all had smiling faces and were helpful in suggesting drinks and answering any questions we had. We were a big group but the service was top notch. The beer selection was great, offering something for all the beer drinkers at our table, and the cocktails were super yummy. The pizza was hot, the chicken wings were crispy, no wimpy, fatty skin! The game was playing and and everyone at our table had a great view. We went to the Stables later for the live music and it was so much fun! I definitely will be back for one of the weekly specials.

My wife and I went to W.H. Ales for the 1st time tonight and it definitely won't be our last! Jim was our server and was incredible! Very personable and kind! The beers were well balanced from IPAs to stouts. We had the spinach artichoke dip and the meat lovers pizza and both were amazing! So nice to have a wonderful brewery reopen where Lumbar Baron's once was. Thanks for the great hospitality! 5 stars!

Face value, they did a nice job putting the place together. We arrived around 5:45 on the Tuesday after they opened, promptly greeted and seated at the bar. The waitress greeted us and offered the beer list. Started out great, but the it took about 10 minutes to take our drink order. The beer, top notch and a 10 out of 10, ice cold and full of flavor. Our food order went in shortly after our drinks, and arrived quickly. My soup, was served without a spoon, they corrected when asked. I also asked for crackers when I ordered, they did not come when my order came out. Really didn’t make a difference because the soup was fantastic. My wife’s salmon pita sandwich also great! Note: it appeared that many employees off the clock were at the bar drinking, imo it creates an awkward situation for quests and I don’t recall experiencing it at another restaurant. The bar staff knows them and tends to make conversation towards them, when they should be making connections with the customers. They have bugs to work out in their staff and timing with the clientele, but In their defense, they have been open for less than a week. The food was very good and a very fair price, we will be back. Our second visit was fantastic! All around great visit; service, food, ice cold beer! Glad we have them another shot.
